I started a thread called something like "Childrens tests used in adult assessment" about a week ago. I last looked at it yesterday and posted a reply. Today there is no sign of it anywhere. I've clicked on the 'View your posts' thing, and scrolled through everything on this page, going back further than when I last know it was here.

Surely I would have been notified if it was taken down, and surely I would have been given the reason? I can;t see any reason - there was nothing remotely offensive or libellous or scandalous on it.

If any mods are looking, would you please look into this and give me an explanation? Thanks.

I couldn't find any reason, so it was probably accidentally swept up in a raft of spam.
I restored it.

Thanks! "Swept up in a raft of spam" - sounds great, I'd like to have seen that!

I don't understand why threads need to be removed.

Even when the thread itself is offensive?

Reason 1: the thread is spam. (e.g., babaji luv guru !@!57297 etc.)

Reason 2: the thread is trolling (e.g., the OP is a bunch of obscene photography)

Reason 3: the thread is a violation of the rules (e.g., the thread is some variation on "why girls are bad" or some other attack on a protected group, or the thread is a long personal attack, or the thread is discussing a banned member, etc.)
