Problems with profile

Hello friends in administration. I am brand new to Wrong Planet, and there are a few things I can't quite figure out in creating my profile. I uploaded an avatar which for some reason never appears with my posts. Under my user name of Punkrockaspie appears the two words "Emu Egg" in posts, but I have noticed that registered users have placed their own personalised addenda in that space; how do I create one? When I click on "My Account" at the top, I can see my avatar (a cat in a punk rock jacket) even though it fails to appear in my posts, and while in the field "Location" "Toronto" correctly appears, there is also a field for "Age", but it is blank despite the fact that I have registered the date of my birth and made no attempt to hide my age. I am not one of those Aspies who relates to the logistics of the internet and websites well and more often this is a source of frustration. Is it possible that you might please be able to assist me in any of this? Thank you.

Hello,

I am not in administration, but I complained to admin about the same age issue. I was told it's a 'glitch' that cannot be fixed. However, I do see your age under your screen name.

I still think my age is missing, do you see it? :roll:

As for your avatar, tricky one there. My avatar for all to see is one of my dogs, but when I go in to my account, the other dog's picture is THERE. Go figure.

I don't know what to tell you about the avatar thing. Have you made sure the avatar is no more than 130 pixels long and 160 pixels wide? Have you clicked "Submit" after uploading it?

With the personalized addenda thing, are you referring to names like "Sea Gull" and "Raven"? Those are ranks that you progress through as your post count increases. So once you get 9 posts you will become a "Butterfly", once you get 17 (?) posts you will become a "Hummingbird", and so on. Or are you referring to more unique names from members from a long time ago? WP used to have a custom rank feature for people who had 1000 posts or more, but now that feature is gone, and only very old members still have them.

Your age appears to me. However, Acadiana, no your age doesn't appear.

Thanks to everyone for replying. I was talking about the ranks. I did not understand the concept of ranks but I do now. Thank you again. As for the avatar, I will have to double check that is not. more than 130 pixels long and 160 pixels wide. My cat avatar is a gif but I will have to Google on how to measure the number of pixels in one.

You were right. My photo was the wrong size. I changed it to 130 by 160 pixels using an online tool. Now my avatar does appear. Thanks again for your help.
