This clickbait advertiser is really bringing me down. I'm not exaggerating. They keep showing me extreme pictures of decaying people and skin disorders and diseases and it is actually giving me panic attacks sometimes.

I need to get rid of it, it is awful and the images are nightmareish. You would certainly not show these images to children, I don't know why there is no filter.

I need it blocked for an iPad. I NEED this. I am seriously considering selling my iPad and getting a PC. There are other reasons but this is a major one. The images are horrifying.

Yeah, the sick thing to me isn't the pictures themselves, it's the psychology of it: they're trying to make you feel sick to purchase their product. Nothing like a good healthy dose of fear advertising-- gotta love the modern world.

I have adblock plus on my Firefox browser and I never see such ads on it. I think adblock slows my computer down a bit, though.

I don't know about iPads, but for Android devices, if you root them, you can install software that will ban all ads on all apps. Not all of them can be rooted (it depends both on the brand and the Android version), but most of them can.
If it's only for your browser, you don't even need to root your device. Just get a normal ad blocker.

I'd just like to add, that for Android, in many cases rooting your phone/pad can void the warranty. For anyone who understands computers and is comfortable troubleshooting them, this isn't that big of an issue at all. That being said, if you're not technically good with your device I would certainly recommend just using an app that doesn't require root privileges.

edit-- word change: "add" was "point out" which sounds confrontational, which was not the intention.

IPAD ADVICE ONLY.

Please be straight forward. I just need one simple answer. None of "I don't know but I have a completely different computer and I use incompatible software for yours".

There's an app for that: "Weblock - AdBlock"
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/weblock ... 18638?mt=8

also, there is something called OpenDNS, but it is a bit more complex. Maybe more than a bit.

Thank you. Do have experience with this app?

..Thanks everyone. That's not to say I don't welcome more tips.

More tips:

http://www.imore.com/best-content-and-a ... phone-ipad

"To enable any of these, you'll need to go to Settings, Safari, then Content Blockers. Toggle your favorite blocker at will. "

(& yeah, I installed weblock-adblock to my sister's iPad & phone)

Ok, I apologize for my google quip then. If you're in a bad mood I completely understand the remark about non IPAD stuff. You're cranky and you want your s**t fixed now, I get that.

That was really nice of you, very thoughtful & is a wonderful example of how we could all try to be to make WP an even better place!

I'm merely human, I have no problems apologizing when I'm wrong. The real kudos should actually go to smudge for explaining instead of going down what was sure to be an argument. I think knowing a person's emotional state allows for empathy-- before I knew he/she was cranky it just sounded entitled, now that I know I can draw from my own experience and empathize.
