Leaving wrong planet because there are more autists out there than on this forum.

And NTs out there do not pretend they are autists. :D (would be funny!)

(won't read NTs' responses)

There are plenty of autistic people here.

Just because they don't "act autistic" doesn't mean they are not autistic.

Many autistic people don't ALWAYS "act autistic." They act like people.

Anyway...Good luck!

I don't know what this is about but I'm sorry you feel unhappy here.
(I am autistic)

What makes you think most people here are NT pretending to be autistic? :(

Boy, we sure have been seeing a lot of these kinds of posts lately.

"You're not autistic. You're married!"
"You're not autistic. You have friends!"
"You're not autistic. You have a job!"
"You're not autistic. You have no special interests!"
"You're not autistic. You don't stim!"
"You're not autistic. You don't have meltdowns!"

When I read comments similar to those the first kind of analogies that come to my mind are:

"You're not Muslim. You haven't killed any infidels!"
"You're not gay. I haven't seen you with a guy!"
"You're not a skinhead. You haven't bashed in any black person's head!"
"You're not a Christian. You cuss and watch porn!"

Gets pretty ridiculous after a while, doesn't it?

For the last time: no one on this forum is pretending to have autism. Just because they disagree with you doesn't mean they don't have autism.

Do you have a master list of people you think are NT?

Not everyone always has the predisposition to vent all their problems onto the forum, myself included. I don't know why you think you can accurately diagnosis someone based on what you can read on a forum.

Nearly every time someone opens one of those obnoxious "the only real ones are formally diagnosed" threads, at least one member/participant leaves as a result. Maybe this time it's you.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of autistics on wrong planet lol- I can be pretty severely autistic (especially when it comes to understanding people) but in other ways I don't "act autistic" at all so- it is what it is you know? Good Luck out there! (Not sarcasm)

I don't know what has been going on with you and what has caused you to decide to leave but it makes me feel sad whenever this wrongplanet forum which is supposed to be a safe haven for autistic people doesn't live up to it's credo and autists have to seek solace elsewhere.

You know for a while i actually MADE the posts above, but now i understand some people have tried VERY hard to get to THIS point.

I still think theres a handful of people who visit the site and kinda think since theyre just a bit socially awkward that means they have autism.

but after hearing from a lot of people, sending me their stories i realize its not so black and white. Im still really jelous that people here on the spectrum can hold down a job and get a spouse but in time, if i tried really hard i could get there too.. But thats the thng with disabilities isn't it? we try a hell of a lot harder than others, getting a job is like winning a nobel prize to us.

People on the spectrum and dont have meltdowns also make me jealous but actually meeting REAL life autistic people isnt much different then this site now that i think about it. Trust me, i have 8 real life autistic friends, and they are all over the spetrum, some cant talk and others have jobs, some have meltdowns and others dont so much.

If you met one person with autism you've met ONE person with autism.

Ps, it really grinds my gears when you say autist instead of Autistic. Sorry just a pet peeve of mine.

It can be hard for certain types of autistic people to relate to others on wp, if others are not similar to them.
I don't relate much to others here, but I do relate to some of their problems, as I have had similar ones myself.
But maybe not as on personal level of relating beyond having some of the same problems.
