You know for a while i actually MADE the posts above, but now i understand some people have tried VERY hard to get to THIS point.
I still think theres a handful of people who visit the site and kinda think since theyre just a bit socially awkward that means they have autism.
but after hearing from a lot of people, sending me their stories i realize its not so black and white. Im still really jelous that people here on the spectrum can hold down a job and get a spouse but in time, if i tried really hard i could get there too.. But thats the thng with disabilities isn't it? we try a hell of a lot harder than others, getting a job is like winning a nobel prize to us.
People on the spectrum and dont have meltdowns also make me jealous but actually meeting REAL life autistic people isnt much different then this site now that i think about it. Trust me, i have 8 real life autistic friends, and they are all over the spetrum, some cant talk and others have jobs, some have meltdowns and others dont so much.
If you met one person with autism you've met ONE person with autism.
Ps, it really grinds my gears when you say autist instead of Autistic. Sorry just a pet peeve of mine.
