So you're opposed to natural selection, are you?

Sad for the family, and for the responders. It took five hours to pack the body out.
Darwin rules sadly apply, don’t take a selfie on the edge of a bluff.

A thick layer of pollen on everything.

The Chimney Swifts are back — that's one of the best signs of spring. They'll be background sounds now every day until the end of September.

Ryditers frob aw de pollub...

Sorry, exgube be a mobent... [Blows nose (again)]

Rhinitus from all the pollen from the beech/birch trees. Spring was late to get going this year, so they've all gone randy at once! Should be over soon, though; and it looks like it's going to be a good year for the bluebells - my favourite!

Comfortable and inconspicuous

Other than that, I actually really enjoy spring. Travelled recently and skipped about 2 months ahead whether-wise: jumped from barely melted snow straight to lilac in bloom and it's really beautiful :) It's just that literally the first sign of spring for me is the pollen allergy.

^ Likewise. I love being out in nature, and it's wonderful therapy too. And despite the hay-fever, Spring is still my favourite time of year. I've always though that the English countryside is at it's most beautiful in May, in almost any kind of habitat.

/\Most likely, last time it was a feral cat on Mother’s Day.I walked outside to see it raking the last nestling out, than it ran off with it in its mouth.
So now the bluebird family has left.

Starlings have somehow managed to nest halfway up the wall of the neighbouring block of flats. I can hear them, and see them flying to and fro. But I can't really take a good look at where the nest is without acting like I'm spying on people.
