I've had 4 surgeries requiring general anesthesia and I also had a colonscopy/endoscopy which was done under general anesthesia. I think its great, you close your eyes, and you open them and the procedure is done. You don't dream at all, and you don't have a sense that any time has passed when you wake up.

I did when I had surgery on my nose because the inside was crooked & was contributing to sinus problems & minor sleep apnea

Yes, for a brain MRI because without it would have been a sensory overload.

I used to have this growth called a pituitary adenoma. It's basically a benign growth on the pituitary gland (it's in the head) and it effects hormone levels.

I was out with the anesthesia. They strapped me in and put my head in this thing that looked like a football helmet.

I was 16 or 17, I don't remember. They used some kind of board, not sure what it is called.

Nope, but the thought terrifies me. Having never had general anesthesia, maybe I would end up being one of those patients who are physically anesthetized but mentally alert. If I ever need general anesthesia, I think seriously that I would beg for a test run.
