I'm pretty sensitive to sounds and food. There's a lot of food I don't like, and this always caused arguments with my family when I was younger as I refused to eat a lot of meals because I really didn't enjoy them. I also, for one, can absolutely not stand eating the fat on steaks and lamb chops. It makes me gag to the point where I feel like I'm nearly going to throw up. My family always thought it was strange that I basically eat the same stuff every day, and I'm okay with that.
As for sound, I'm pretty sensitive to loud sounds. My step dad likes to blast his music through the house, and I can't stand it. I always close my door but I can still hear it. It's really annoying. Even little sounds that most people easily ignore I can't stand, like the sound of people chewing their food. It makes me cringe a lot. School is the worst out of them all, because I can literally never concentrate or do my work with the constant students yelling and chatting. This leads to bigger problems as I don't get work done. This has always been an issue for me, ever since the beginning of school.
I've been to a few concerts, and those are pretty bad too. It's like there's so much noise at concerts I can't really hear anything at all, not even really the music playing.
So yeah, all this stuff is pretty common among ASD people.
