Does anyone know what their name almost was?

If I had been a boy, I would have been Hans.

They almost named me Liezl, but thought it sounded too German (and Hans wouldn't have?)

Had I been a boy, my mother informs me frequently that my name would be Wren.

Mom says that she wanted to name me Tamale, so that I could start a band called "Tamale James and the Hot Burritos."

Had I been a boy, I would have been Ben.

I was almost named Hitler but the time machine door slammed on my pregnant mother womb and she was left in 1889 and I have no idea what happen after that. Oh I was shipped in a Fed Ex package in 1970 to my adoptive parents.

My mother was deadset on naming me Lisel for the longest time, then decided against it at the last minute because no one could pronounce it.

So then the heavily considered choices were:
Samantha (ditched because of the nickname Sam)
Jessica (rejected because of Jess or Jessie, but the main choice for the any following female children (none))

If I was a boy, my name would either have been Christopher (my little brother's name) or Patrick.

Because of my southern background, I was almost named BOB! 8O 8O 8O

If I was a girl, I probably would have been named something to celebrate the Latin American side and NOT the southeren side.

Eventually, I was name Eric.

Weird! Same name my parents wanted for me, but different spelling.

I might have the spelling wrong. My mother can't remember how to spell it anymore. :P

She got her inspiration from "The Sound of Music" (and she's all German, so the ethnic thing got pulled into it). Is that where your parents got the name?
