I'm experiencing a bit of writer's block right now. I need to complete this scene by Friday though, so I have to figure this out.

Basically, I'm writing a story about two young brothers. The younger of them is morally upright and exceedingly physically strong, but he's not conventionally intelligent and is extremely impulsive. The older brother, has exactly the opposite traits. Not a whole lot has been established yet about their relationship or what their lives are like at this point other than the fact that the younger brother is "headstrong and always getting into scrapes" despite being a fundamentally good person. The older brother is an extremely skilled manipulator.

At some point, the two brothers are supposed to have a falling out that will permanently damage their relationship. I'm supposed to write a scene that explains how this conflict arose, but I'm sort of drawing a blank. So, any suggestions as to what might happen between these two characters to make the older sibling hate the younger one? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

You can always toss a woman into the mix to get between the two brothers. One seduces the other's fiance, or the like.

Or one joins a cause that the other is opposed to.Like Ben Franklin's son being a loyalist to the British crown. The riff between Franklin and his grown son never quite mended as I understand it.
