Is it ok to eat a lot of ice popsicles in one day?

Me and my partner are getting a new fridge-freezer delivered this week, but we've got to try to finish off the food we've already got in the current freezer because the delivery people are taking it away when they deliver the new one. There's a lot of ice popsicles in there and I like them more than he does, but I'm worried in case having too many in one day might make me fat or sick? To finish them all up I need to eat about 5-6 today and the rest tomorrow. One good thing is it's the perfect weather for ice popsicles at the moment.

The popsicles are fruit flavoured and lemonade flavoured. Is that many calories?

Gorging yourself on them just once won't do any harm

If you are at a healthy weight now, your body won't immediately try to store the extra calories as fat. So, it won't do any harm*. You *could* pick up one of those super inexpensive Styrofoam coolers; if you keep the lid on, with ice they'll stay frozen at least until the new unit gets cold enough.

*except for maybe the huge amount of sugar going into your GI at once; some people are sensitive to such conditions and their body will try to um, 'flush' the offending sugarbomb out.

This is a brilliant idea. It'll keep all your other frozen food cool while you eat all those ice popsicles.

Silly me, thinking of freezing the ice popsicles...of course you freeze the other stuff and eat the good stuff, what was I thinking?

I don't think that gorging yourself on ice pops for only one day will make you fat.

I could never eat that many popsicles at once, I don't really even like them that much. My dad really likes them, though. he eats them even in the winter. My mom has said it's embarrassing to be seen buying a big box of popsicles at the store when it's freezing out. But ice cream is okay, so I don't know.

Just thinking of eating that many gives me brain freeze. :pale:

It's important for you to monitor how you feel. I really love popsicle brand popsicles, especially chocolate, tropical and creamsicles. I started eating them as low calorie treats (even though I'd eat a lot. Lower calorie than a pint of ice cream!)

I was fine for a few days. Then I noticed my stomach rumbled a lot and I got pretty bad runs. I thought I was just sick from a virus.

I ran out of popsicles for a few days, then I got some more boxes. I ate a bunch, and then got bad runs again. For a long time. Next day I was fine and had some more popsicles. 2 hours later . . . ya know it happened again. THAT was when I made the connection.

There's something in them that makes me sick. So I won't try them again and am giving the leftovers to a neighbor.

So, if you don't have a reaction like this, I think it's a great, low calorie solution. But be aware.
