By far the most well known sports figure in my lifetime.

he's passed away, 74 years old

He seemed older but that is probably because of the cruelness of parkinson's disease had long stolen his voice from us.

RIP

He had so much charisma that even after Parkinson's robbed him of his voice and left him shaking in a wheelchair he could bring a crowd to its feet simply by rolling in. He stood up for what he believed in, and was ready to go to prison at the pinnacle of his career rather than fight in Nam. Many whites hated him for it, but he was right and the feds were wrong. Truly The Greatest, and will remain so.

I read his autobiography a few years ago. Wonderful person, he will definitely be missed.

A superb athlete, the greatest boxer of his, or any, day, and a real gentleman. Again, someone who had been alive for my entire life span, who I took for granted would always be here, has left.

If there is a Hereafter I am sure Ali and Howard Cosell are trading stories and jokes together....

While I note Donald Trump made a nice tweet in reaction to Ali's death I have a fantasy in which Ali in his prime has a trash talking contest with Trump. It obviously was in a very different context but Ali was more direct in charges of disloyalty and just plane verbally vicious then Trump.

He was openly racist.

No idea why he's getting a pass.

Good boxer? Sure (not good enough, however).
