Yes, this is great.

I sniped a few % gain today.

Then tomorrow likely some rebound, take that % gain, and back into cash.

I believe a vote for Brexit is a vote for ignorant provincialism.

Just like a vote for Trump is a vote for ignorant provincialism.

By the way, London voted against leaving the EU.

does that say anything about the general voting population of London versus the rest? since it was a generational thing, mebbe the young and ladder-of-success-climbing yuppies of London simply, by dint of their greater presence, outvoted the older folk [who tend to not be as populous in big cities where the cost of living is too high in general] who were in favor of brexit?

Very well could be. That makes good sense.

This same result was also obtained in other major cities of the UK

This is the same sort of demographics which is occurring in the US now:

Cities: Usually voting Democratic

Rural and Suburban: Usually voting Republican.

to borrow from Gibran, the young live in the house of tomorrow, and us oldsters can't enter this house, not even for a visit. this time, the young are calling the shots, their time is now, tomorrow is here.

The oldsters were the ones that voted for Brexit.

The youngsters are now pissed at the oldsters for "taking their future away."

^^yes, certainly- but not in the cities where they were outvoted. and historically the young have always bristled at the conservatism of the old.

Dude, that quote is a total nonsequitar.

Supporting Brexit correlates with conservatism, and not the with the opposite. Its about reviving the "house" of the nationalistic Nineteenth Century Europe of Queen Victoria, and has nothing to do with any "house of the Future" (not to judge- even if its a good move-its still about returning to a past). And the average majority voter in any election is always the same constant age ( where do you get this nonsense about young people? Voters in the UK didnt suddenly get younger).

damned puter [in cooperation with WP] evaporated what I was gonna post, so here goes again if I can remember what i'm talking about here- my clumsy "prophet" paraphrasing notwithstanding, the young in the cities voted more than the old did, for the status quo- whereas the oldsters voted to change back to an earlier state- each side bristled at the other's version of conservatism [using a global definition of the word], both were exhibiting their own forms of such.

I wonder if some GOPers, at Cleveland convention, are gonna pull out an alternate "trump card" that they've been hiding from us so far.

Stock markets plummeting here in Australia. Massive rush to buy British pounds. At a 30 year low...so currency exchange is lucrative at least..

Many of my British neighbors reflecting what a lot of local Brits were saying yesterday...regret voting to leave, didn't think it would wreck their economy...too much publicity over British jobs being "stolen" by migrants.

Nick Farage a right wing nutjob and serial liar has come out a winner after this at the expense of David Cameron. Average people in Britain are highly embarrassed.

I imagine this will repeat itself later in the US when millions of ignorant Americans will vote for Trump because they are worried about too many Mexicans and muslims.

Democracy only works when the population is educated enough to make a rationale decision....
