Why can't I use my keyboards emoji on this site?

Because the forum's software likely predates the popularization of the emoji standard. Ironically it's been around since the 90s in Japan, but it only became popular everywhere else when Apple started introducing support for it on iOS.

Just a random tip, you can actually use the [img] code to grab emoji from other sites. You run the risk of pissing off the admin of the source site for unnecessary traffic from Wrong Planet but it will work. If bandwidth is issue for another site, they should have software in place to prevent that and that kinda of software does exist. If you want an emoji from a site that prevents excess traffic, you can save the emoji like you would an image, upload it somewhere and use that link.
