America is a Republic, not a democracy.

Well, democracy is who gets the most votes.

He appears to be running legitimately.

I don't see the point here.

I see very little difference between Trump and other politicians.

In some ways, so far, he's better...he hasn't sent anyone to
get killed for oil (or whatever stupid reason). He hasn't
bombed any innocent civilian families that I know of.

He hasn't tried to give away all of our jobs to companies overseas,
or invited foreign nationals to come here to take them.

He hasn't kissed the a__ of any foreign mogul that
then finances terrorism against us..

He hasn't stolen billions to give to their friends and contributors
in the name of "bail out."

He's only one person; heck, even the P.M. of Hungary has
said he would make a better president.

The parties in power distrust anyone they can't keep under their thumb.

I thought the article about Trump was spot on. If he isn't really a buffoonish, empty headed, racist narcissist, then he's doing a dang good job of impersonating one.

I agree totally.

I only point out the buffoonish and murderous efforts of
the people that have been chosen for us by the major parties
in the past.

With all of their sophistication they've managed to bring down the
world into total war, twice. Maybe it's time to let an amateur try.

There will be plenty of people, in both houses, to stand in the
way of the most ridiculous of his efforts; it's not that some won't
try to attach to his wagon.....but this just illustrates what I
point out as the greedy, stupid failings of our government.

I can't stand the thought of continuing on the path we're on.

ZenDen, yes, it's funny how only one PM (who similarly hates foreigners) endorsed him. One, out of hundreds of countries' heads of states.

A temporary majority of voters cannot deprive citizens of due process of law.

Even a majority in Congress cannot limit the right of the press or of speech.

But both men, despite their obvious personality problems, were highly intelligent, and had had actual plans for the country, rather than promising essentially nothing of substance, save for, "it's going to be HUUUUUUUGE," or "You're going to win so much, you're going to get tired of winning." That, and both men were master wordsmiths who would never have said the insane, blundersome things Trumps has. And both Nixon and LBJ were able to keep their unsavory mob connections out of the news, while Trump hardly seems to care that his white supremacist support is constantly a media event.

Trump has recently hired on a his new campaign manager the former head of Breitbart, which under his aegis had become a mouthpiece for the extremely racist and conspiracy theory oriented Alt(ernative) Right.

Trump is not the real danger. His supporters are.

It is sad and shocking that so many Americans are so attracted to an authoritarian demagogue.
