In his latest standup special, FreeDumb, which was released by Netflix last month, comedian Jim Jefferies recounts the humorous story of how he found out he was autistic. The topic of autism is discussed for a significant portion of his 90 minute comedy show. By addressing autism in his standup special, Jefferies brings up issues that are important to me as an autistic person.

He begins by talking about his wife not wanting to get their son Hank vaccinated and how he did it anyway, which required forging her signature on multiple documents. After Hank received the vaccinations, he behaved oddly. In ...

Jim Jeffries is the name of a champion boxer of the very early 20th century. Jack Johnson beat him in 1910 for the championship.

What are you talking about, he's hilarious.


Different strokes for different folks, I don't like comedy that relies on purely shock value nor do I want to be preached at by the very same comedian. He comes off as very unlikable, a bit of a dick as he describes himself in the article.

Yep...he was the first "great white hope." It was a very racist time. There were riots after Johnson beat Jeffries.

that may be true but this article is about Jim Jefferies, not Jim Jeffries.

Anybody ever heard of Mr. Inevitable? Mr. Inevitable is Elijah, the protagonist of "Elijah's Cup."

Yes. I've hung out with him in the past and also know his mother Valarie who wrote the book.

He's living in upstate New York now. I met him twice. The first time, he was a waiter in a restaurant. The other time, he was sitting in the town square. He seemed sort of forlorn the second time.

I briefly met the mother at a book signing. She was too busy to talk.
