Facetious delivery aside this IS true ~ And , in Russian-style Communist countries , membership in the Communist Party was a high-status thing , for the elite/well-connected/rewarded ~ Or those attempting to climb the proletariat-dictating status ladder ~ Everyday peons did not join the Party .

Drawing parallels between Trump's white supremacist support, and Clinton's endorsement by a communist group, is not fair or accurate when you consider those supporters and their beliefs and actions. Racist groups advocate genocide, mass deportations, and slavery on the basis of superficial skin color, while communists just advocate a failed economic system. There's a world of difference.
