How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

Chew finger tip skin and spit it out, pick off finger skin, chew lips, ruminate about worse case scenarios, binge watch television, shop expensive items online and put in shopping cart but don't buy them, tap symmetrical patterns into my face, draw looping symmetrical patterns on my fingernails, move feet and toes on alternating repetitive patterns, google special interests.

I smoke weed or listen to music maybe both. I have a medical card for the weed. I know that's not an acceptable option either for legality or stigma for many here but it works for me and has since I was in high school. At first it was taboo black market thing. But right around that time was also when my state started to accept it as a medicine. So the feelings I had that this "drug" was helping me were validated.

Never really liked how alcohol made me feel and I've been around many alcoholics so that never worked. And for me a natural plant is much more acceptable than prescription anxiety medicine like Xanax. The side effects and risk I take with my health are so much greater with that.

Withdraw from everything for a few days and listen to a lot of Nick Cave and stuff. Maybe smoke some weed if I can.

Being in nature.
Moving.
Music.
Yoga/meditation.
Watching Dr Who.
Cuddles with DH, kiddo, cat or friends.
Messing about with my hands, from making art, cooking to cleaning.
Extensive grooming or practicing make up tutorials.
Working on cos play costumes.
Extra meds or calling on the pro help troops if all the above fail.
