Just got back from donating platelets. It gets kind of boring, because you sit there for about 2 hours without moving your arms. At least you get to watch TV, but I still usually need to do something else while watching TV or I get bored. But I got a free mug and water bottle today (extra special promotion day!). Just wondering who else donates blood.

I tried but it was rejected. To much caffeine mixed in.

I give blood, but mostly to overcome my fear of needles. Stupid giant needles.

I'm not old enough to donate blood. The only blood I give is to the doctor so they can check my cholesterol. I'm not afraid of needles or the sight of blood though.

I was as a child, until my cousin started bragging about how brave she was. Then I got over my fear just to one-up her.

I donate, because I am a 'universal donor'. O- blood type. Anyone can use the blood I donate, so I know it'll definitely go wherever it's needed.

they never take me because my veins are so small and they roll. They are polite but firm because they can do three people in the time it would take them to do me, so they say.
So, I can't even have that last safty valve ( you can get like $30 bucks USD for plasma here!) and $30USD can buy a lot of groceries or GAS. . talk about blood for oil!

I'm A-, which is pretty rare. So they like to see me come in. Plus, I've got a great vein in my left arm. They could hit it from across the room. I was a little disappointed, though, when I found out my blood type. I've always been a straight-A kind of person, so an A- was sad.

Sadly I am unable to give blood here in the UK since I recieved a blood transfusion at birth - that was in '86, and that is the date for the vCJD cutoff to donors. Its wierd to think my life was saved by it, and due to that I am unable to save others.
My dad and sister donate on my behalf, and I hope my brother will when he is old enough.

No, I'm not allowed.

1. I don't weigh enough.

2. I'll easily pass out if I do.

So I would if I could, but I'll probably never be able to.

I've given blood maybe about five times. Only my left arm has good veins for it though, so I don't know what will happen if that arm ever decides to give out on me. There's some scar tissue in the elbow crease actually from giving blood and having blood tests (I've had a *lot* in my life for various reasons), because they always need to use that arm.
Since I traveled a bunch when I was studying abroad a couple of years ago, it takes ages to get through the preliminaries because I have to tell them about the countries I visited, and for two of them I need to know the province, which I always forget.
