Hello, another new person here. I'm a 21 year old female.

I've never been diagnosed with Asperger's, but have been odd enough throughout my life I think it's a good possiblity I might have a mild case of it. When I was a kid, I was what can only be described as a social "ret*d;" I never seemed to read social cues and I consequently had few friends and was bullied somewhat.

Due to the bullying and other negative social experiences I eventually developed social anxiety disorder (officially diagnosed at age 18 ) and spent the majority of my high school year as an outsider. The only socialization I really got came from my part time jobs. I lost a couple of part time jobs when I was 15 due to "shyness." Being so anxious made me think more carefully and be more socially adept so I was, ironically, more socially accepted.

The year I turned 18, the anxiety spiraled out of control and I got diagnosed after a panic attack landed me in the emergency room. I was perscribed celexa, which I credit with turning my life around: the anxiety was numbed, I was able to use my newfound wisdom in social situations so I've come a long way in the past few years...I'm currently taking time out from school and living and working abroad and I'd describe my life as "normal" since I do have friends, have dated for the first time in my life and go out fairly often, though the misreads of social sitatutions and things till crop up...

So, in a nutshell, definitive systems/associations:

No language delay.
Good school performance.
Graphomotor problems (I was officially diagnosed with dysgraphia in grade 1)
Slightly clumsy.
Varying social issues.
Varying fixated interests, which vary in length and intensity.
Sensitive to loud noises.
I have a hard time multitasking in certain situations, particuarly if two people are talking to me at once.
I sometimes speak in a monotone and/or too fast.
