I've been looking into autism programs at schools near Jersey City (I have to be able to use public transport to visit my sister on a regular basis), and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about them in practice? The materials sound good, but there's a lot of ways they could go wrong. Do programs like that help? Are they patronizing or anything?
Has anyone done the COMPASS program at Fairleigh Dickinson, the PAC thing at Manhattanville, the Bridges program at Adelphi, or the Autism Support Program at Drexel?
(I know Rutgers has one, but that place is big and scary and too close to where my mom lives for comfort.)
