Partly this, any animal that has a sufficiently complex language will probably run into some variety of perceived exceptionalism in its experience of self.
Also, as far as we know, we have this most acutely because - at least as far as organic life on this planet is concerned - we are at the top with respect to subjective, linguistic, and intellectual complexity.
