last semester of college but losing the will to live
After many years, I'm finally on my "last" semester of college. But the will to keep on living is just killing me inside. I'm 21 and still live with my folks but I'm rather trapped. Having to take items like, my internet adapter, that I've been paying even though I need it for two online classes such as algebra 2 and programming. Doesn't help that they don't really care what happens to me at this point. Rather see me work at a awful job then push their child towards a good career. My father thinks I'm underwhelming and my mother has anger issues and thinks I just need to get a job. I've worked all though out the spring and summer in terms of paying off college, gas, and books. Jobs from where I'm at are horrible in terms of payment. But they don't care. I'm trying to make sense of all of this but sick of burning all of my money on college and I think I just sick of how my parents are treating over the years. I'm done with life.

I feel your pain - college was a miserable, perpetually suicidal experience for me too. But you're so close to graduating, at this point you just have to keep your eye on the goal, and know that having a degree will make a huge difference, in terms of what sort of jobs you'll be eligible for in the future. Hang in there - this is not the time to give up!
You have many strengths, among them the ability to work at stupid jobs to further your goals. That may not sound like anything to brag about, but for many folks at WP, it exceeds their wildest dreams.
Hang in there a while longer, just keep plodding along doing what needs to be done. Remember the night is often darkest, just before the dawn.
Sometimes life transitions are extremely stressful. Not so long ago, a WP member started a job that turned out to have a lot of stressful problems. She became suicidal, not realizing it was probably the job that was doing that to her. Once she quit the job, she was able to see the link, and also that it would have been a big mistake to give in to the suicidal urges. My point is that the stress of finishing up college and looking to get into a career and moving away from critical family members, while desirable, may be overwhelming you. But giving up would be a mistake.
Best of luck to you, and let us know how it's going.
