I can't stand sudden, unexpected loud noises that I have no control over but I'm fine if I'm the one making the noise. A good example would be a balloon. I really hate balloons because they have a habit of suddenly and unexpectedly popping. So if I see someone with a balloon I'll get away from them, knowing that at some point it'll probably pop. If I have the balloon, I'll pop it as soon as possible to avoid it popping unexpectedly. That way I have control over the situation. Even standing still holding a balloon for a few seconds freaks me out.
