Stand Your Ground

Never let anyone tell you how you should feel about any given situation. Don't "think" your feelings. Just "feel" them.
Don't stand there and say, "Well I shouldn't be angry." If you're angry, be angry. Give yourself the freedom to feel this way. The more NT's try to make us like them, the more crazy we become. If you want to reach your full potential, you'll have to be exactly who you are and not the person others want you to be so they can feel comfortable. If you can't be around NT people, avoid them. Majority might rule but that doesn't make them correct.

I agree! I used to live with my stepmom and stepsister, who are both NTs, and they don't understand autism. My stepmom in particular doesn't even believe in Asperger's or autism in general. She thinks it's bull@#$t. So it was difficult for me to live with them because of that. I'm trying harder and harder every day to stand my ground and speak up for myself. It's not that easy, though. I'm glad I don't live with my step relatives anymore and I bet they're glad that I'm not living with them, even though they may try to hide it. They seemed nice enough the last time I visited them about a month ago. Ok, I guess that's all I have to say.

I also agree with you. I couldn't have said it better, myself.
