I always wanted one as a kid, but I've never used one.

Since we are in the second decade of the 21st century in which even cell phones have been kicked to the curb by smartphones, walkies talkies are pretty much obsolete wrapped in obsolete by now.

But I still use VHS tapes, and even play a vinyl record every now and then. So to each his own.

I used to have a set of walkie-talkies that I used with my brother. We would pretend to be spies. 8)

Also, it doubles as a really lame intercom.

I'm hearing impaired, so walkie talkies can be a problem when all I hear is Schhhhh...eherazade...schhhh...
I love the idea of them though.

I like the original walkie-a-talkies. The big, clunky ones from the 40s.

When I was young, I loved walkie-talkies. This was my 2-channel Radio Shack walkie talkie:

I never used one except a few times when I had a Nextel phone. I hated the walietalkie & much prefer a regular cellphone.
