I don't know if I should post here. Is there still a hold on banning countries?

It can't be enforced. The judges blocked it.

But I do think the screening process needs to be assessed and revamped, if necessary.

He not part of anything. He did vote for the orange guy. I'm glad the countries got blocked, he was born in a different country.

If your dad is a citizen of the US, then he should not have any problems with leaving or entering the US.

I have no idea how other countries are responding. He might be denied entry to his destination.

If he isnt a US citizen, they he might have problems coming back to the US depending upon where he is from or where he is returning from.
