With the Syrian missile strikes he initiated. I don't really like Assad, but I think it may have taken interventionism too far as for what price we would have to pay for it. I think this could be it-the end of the world. The strike is also interpreted as a warning to North Korea, I don't know if we should risk by poking Kim Jung Un in the face. I hate Kim Jung Un, don't take that the wrong way. I don't think we should be poking the hornet's nest. And Trump declared that he will act unilaterally against China and pre-emptively intervene in North Korea. Welcome to World War 3 guys. I hope things don't go down really bad and we head in the nuclear direction.

What do you think? Will we be nuked to ashes? Or something else?

N. Korea is a hornet's nest that's going to have to be dealt with sooner or later.

I'll have to give ya that! They are being a little too free with throwing solid objects around the atmosphere and landscape.

Q: Is Donald Trump endangering the whole world?
A: "But Mom, everybody does it!"

You're late to the party on World War 3. Pope Francis has already warned about the beginning of World War III back in 2014.

As for Donald Trump endangering the whole world? Sounds like you have it backwards.

Trump should either stay out of world affairs or put the world under submission to him.

Trump and his corrupt/evil friends in power are indeed endangering the whole world. They want to profit off yet another war. They are all about money, big oil and ignoring tons of problems.. rather than fixing things that should be fixed.

So sickening what Sean Spicer said today. He said Hitler didn't use chemicals. He called concentration camps.. "Holocaust centers". Seriously. I think the Republicans and Trump are telling him to say this crap, so it distracts from real issues. Spicer seems like an idiot but I find it hard to believe he thinks what he is saying is true.

Next year can't come soon enough. Get most of these idiot Republicans out, so at least some damage can be stopped. Start the impeachment process of Trump then- since these idiots likely wont do it. Trump goes along with their ideas mainly because he is scared to be exposed, and scared he will lose many profits. It's clear Trump isn't fit for office. He is profitting off of USA now, at citizen's expense. How many golf trips has he taken now? People whine any time a Democrat takes many trips.. but Trump is literally at his resort golfing nearly EVERY weekend so far.

Enough is enough.

I think Spicer is done. He basically denied the Holocaust. Jewish groups are calling for his resignation.

And the Chinese are angry about that United airline incident because the passenger was Chinese and they feel he was targeted.

The repercussions of Trump's stupidity are multiplying.

What does the airline thing has have to do with Trump?

It was idiocy by the private corporation of United Airlines. Nothing to with the U.S. Government, or the president of the USA.

My point is that the Chinese care because relations are already so unpleasant.

Spicer didn't deny the Holocaust. The media saying he did is a distortion aka more fake anti-Trump news.

I mean everything he said is right there. One can either examine it objectivity or subjectively.

Spicer said Hitler didn't use chemical weapons on the battlefield which is correct. And I don't see Holocaust Center being much of a euphemism for Concentration Camp.

Another thing I look at is motive. In this case it was an effort to shame Russia's alliance with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his use of chemical weapons.

Be careful what you wish for. In next years mid term election for the Senate the Democrates have to defend 25 seats, the Republicans only 8.

It is the best political interest for the Democrats that Trump completes his term and it continues to be a circus because while the math is against them in senate they would hope to damage the Republican, consersative, and populist public image for the forseeable future and gain as much control of the House because 2020 is a census year requiring all congressional districts to be redrawn. The party in power redraws the districts.

i agree that it was just a "gaff".

if everyone is cocked with a hair trigger , then they will derive some insult from anything that is said.

today on the news, there was a story about primary school students (elementary school( under 12 years old)) who were interviewed about their understanding of what is dangerous to do with respect to driving in traffic.
...blah blahh ...and at the end some commentator said "if those kids know the facts, then there is no excuse for adults not knowing them".

i was not interested in the story, but i was thinking about how some bleeding heart may find offense in the commentators statement, and i immediately thought "ageism".

he inferred that people over 18 were smarter than young people under 12.

you can find offense in everything if you scratch everything out of what they say, only to leave only the bones of a statement that can then be construed as offensive.

but what's going to happen in north korea?

the current leader (will not mention his name due to potentially tripping a trap) has inherited a lot of power and he is like a child in his bedroom playing with all his toys, and he also is narcissistic to the extent that he wants to look to his people like he is not afraid of america.

one wonders whether he is sane enough not to employ his nuclear capacity in actual conflict.

i do not think he has the capacity for intercontinental missile delivery systems however because that would require a space program, and their attempts to attain orbit with a delivery devise would have been discovered by now.

so is trump preempting a potential flash point of the future?
i would think that it would be better to monitor any excursions into orbit by any rocket launched from north korea rather than be seduced by it's sabre rattling claim that they do have a nuclear capacity.

at the moment, i believe that they could wreak havoc on the south, or deliver some ordnance to japan and also parts of china.

I don't think he is a Holocaust denier either, but his choice of words was so unfortunate. He was trying to say that Assad was worse than Hitler, which is probably not the best plan on Passover, but still, a good motive. He screwed up because he got his history wrong.

EzraS wrote:

Spicer said Hitler did not use chemical weapons against his own people, which is incorrect. The whole comparison is ill conceived. It doesn't matter if Assad is as bad as Stalin, Hitler, Hussein, whoever, Assad is bad.

EzraS wrote:

This is the first time I have ever heard the phrase Holocaust Centre. I'm not sure why Spicer felt the need to make up a new phrase for concentration camp; it's like he was trying to sanitize it.

Spicer should stick to the script.
