Late walking and intellectual disability
Hi,
I came across this study and since then, I'm a mess. I can't stop crying.
My daugther is 17 months old and showing some autistic traits but not all and she is still not walking independently.
She cruises along furnitures and crawles well but that's it.
Accroding to this study, walking after 16 months is more likely due to an intellectual disability.
Do you have any thoughts about this ?

Keep in mind that it's one study. Your daughter is still very young, if you're worried you could always take her to her pediatrician to get a professional opinion. At that age, the traits you're seeing could be due to any number of things. Is she babbling? Pointing? Meeting other milestones? No need to stress, they'll be plenty of time for that later if need be. For now just enjoy your little girl!
