What is it about a cat that they can be so small, yet take up so much space on a bed. My cat George likes to lay on my legs, then dig his claws in if I try to move.

Me too.
I would give you a fluffy kitten as a reward.
But I don't have one and you're too far away.

My 20 year old poodle . If any other dog or cat crowds him (lay to close to his nose) I relocate them.

In my case, it's me.

I don't have a cat at home, but when I stay at my grandma's, her cat definitely gets priority. She loves to curl up right against the back of my knee and weigh down the blanket so I can't move without making her get up...I think she's realized that I won't wake her and is taking advantage of me. She's a smart little fuzzball. =)

Cow Kitty picks a spot and if it doesn't work with me I displace her.
