Why do so many young men have beards?

I'm guessing it's due to a beard essentially being the ultimate sign of masculinity and them wanting to convey their manliness with it. I don't blame them, but not all men are created equal when it comes to growing a beard. I for one couldn't grow a beard if I tried. Can't imagine myself sporting one anyway.

sub-bass is in the range of about 20-60hz and is felt more than heard.
perhaps even making some beard hairs flutter.

i think it helps them to look better in case they have an ugly face structure or double chin

Might help hiding a double chin, but if the face is asymmetrical a beard will probably make it worse. Unless its a Gandalf-caliber beard.

about the ugly face structure I meant actually jawline I just didn't remember the word. a defined and square-ish jawline are beautiful and masculine traits, and you can achieve this impression with a beard with you have a more slim or round face.
