Why does everyone, on the spectrum, have to be a genius. To say that everyone, who's on the spectrum, has a special interest/skill, or is really creative, is like saying every ginger-haired person must be good at art.
Reading articles, about aspie traits & that all aspies are bound to be creative/good at maths/fixated on a hobby, makes me question my diagnosis. I already have doubts.
I am not creative. I can't read/write music, or play a musical instrument. I'm not a systemiser. I'm not good at maths; in fact as a young girl, I had extra maths lessons and had to be taught how to write 5 correctly. I find reading boring - other than news/magazine articles, which are short and sweet - which means I'll never write a literary opus, that wins the Booker Prize. If you saw a drawing that I had done, you'd think a 5 year old child would have drawn it. I can't write fiction; I have ideas for films/tv dramas, but because of the fact I don't socialise, I have no idea what adult relationships are like.
So when I read topics, like this one and how everyone, who replies, says that their creative efforts are really wonderful, I think that the psychologist, who assessed me, asked the wrong questions and mis-diagnosed me. I do have a talent for not cleaning/tidying up my home. Does that count?
