I can't eat or drink in the bathroom or eat food that has been in the bathroom. It really grosses me out when someone goes into the bathroom with food or a drink. It doesn't matter how clean a bathroom is, it is still the place where feces, urine, mold, nude bodies, hairs, and everything gross you can imagine has been. I don't know how anyone can eat or take food into the bathroom knowing everything that goes on in there. Food and drinks belong nowhere near a bathroom. I won't even drink water that comes from a bathroom faucet. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I notice that when I stay in hotels the coffee maker and all the coffee stuff is in the bathroom. I just find it repulsive whenever I see anything food or drink related in a bathroom. I can't even drink out of cups that have been in a bathroom. It doesn't matter how many times they have been washed. How do you feel about this? Do you find it disgusting to bring food or drinks into the bathroom?

Yes. If I'm in a store and I have a drink I won't take it in the restroom with me. I'll either finish the drink before I use the restroom, or lay it on one of the shelves hidden behind some things and get it after I'm done in the restroom.

That is how I am too. I will either finish a drink or set it down somewhere before I enter the bathroom. I see people walk into restrooms with water bottles and other drinks and I don't know how they do it.

I will drink water from the bathroom sink and will use a cup that's been in the bathroom if it has been washed (but not if it's been in there when the toilet was flushed but hasn't been washed in the meantime, or if the part you drink from has touched the counter), but otherwise I'm the same way. It perplexes me, too, how some people will take food or beverages into the bathroom and still eat/drink it. I'm guessing they put the coffee makers in hotels in the bathroom because that's where the water is, so that makes it more convenient to fill, but I also wouldn't want to use it (but that isn't an issue for me because I don't like coffee either). I usually only have drinks in public at restaurants or coffee shops (I get non-coffee beverages there sometimes), so I'll just leave my drink at the table if I need to use the bathroom.

sometimes there is no water fountain, so i drink from the bathroom sink.

water from the fountain is often much colder than water from the sink. cold water (appears to) compound extreme constipation symptoms (for me, thus far).

so i often drink water from the sink

and other than that, i do not eat or drink in the bathroom

but it does not bother me seeing or hearing or smelling someone eat in the bathroom

what does bother me is the hand dryer. some models are so loud. loud talking. radios. talking too much. talking too loud. having the nerve to ask me for a light, while i am on the toilet. banging on the bathroom door impatiently. once someone had the nerve to peer over the top of the bathroom stall door. when i was on the toilet. and he correctly told me that i was reading a book.

it also bothers me when precious lil "people" ask "are you ok" when i was in the bathroom for "30 minutes". (it was just 15 minutes. there were 5 toilets available. at least 2 of the toilets were empty).

I’ve been instructed since I was young to never drink faucet water, unless it’s been boiled. It doesn’t matter which faucet it comes from. To this day, I still don’t drink faucet water that’s not boiled.

As for eating, I will definitely not eat in a public bathroom. In my own home, I guess it depends on various things.

some cities have high quality tap water

some cities have low quality tap water

if i feel emotional and want to gorge/binge, i do it in a room that does not contain a toilet.

that is not that difficult or inconvenient, because many rooms do not contain toilets

Well I wouldn't eat in a public restroom but I have certainly brought drinks in with me.

As for my own bathroom I don't really care, if I wake up thirsty often times I'll just fill my cup out of the bathroom faucet..rather than going out to the kitchen to get water. I also usually have a cup I use to rinse my mouth when I brush my teeth that I should probably swap out more often...but sometimes its the same unwashed cup for a few weeks. Probably wouldn't eat in the bathroom unless I'm in a hurry and trying to do bathroom stuff and eat at the same time.

I am EXACTLY the same way! As in, I agree 100%, even about cups. My kitty used to like to go outside and roll around in dirt. She'd go from being a black and white cat to being completely gray, so I had to bathe her a lot. I kept a cup in the bathroom to gently rinse her off, since she had very sensitive skin and couldn't handle the water pressure directly from the tub. That cup never went back in the dishwasher. I thought it would've have been so gross to wash it with the other dishes. I always cleaned it by hand and kept it in the bathroom.

For many years I would purposefully eat in the bathroom.
It was the only place I could eat in privacy.

I occasionally take a cookie into the bathroom and eat it there. Even then, the cookie is already in my mouth by the time I reach the bathroom door.

Other than that, I'm against the idea.

I'm sometimes bewildered by what certain members of my family eat on the toilet, based on the wastebasket next to the toilet.

I agree. It's really disgusting. Patrons at the library where I work bring food and drink in there all the time. Sometimes I can't even go into the bathroom because of the smell. I can't imagine eating or drinking in there. People leave a mess, too. I saw someone drop an empty soda bottle into the toilet.

I would never eat in a bathroom (and certainly not keep my toothbrush in there!), but there's ONE exception.
Shower-beer. I love to drink a beer when in the shower.
I have no idea why that is so ok with me. I guess it's because I won't open it until the water is running, which somehow makes it all right.

Everybody I know are grossed out by taking food and drink into the bathroom. Not me, though. I take a can of pop into the bath with me. No, I don't spill it into the water, I'm not two.

Now I feel bad (not in the physical sense) because I drink tap water from my bathroom sink and even fill my cup with it to boil water for tea because for some reason I find the water tastes better than it does when it's from the kitchen sink, which I normally use when boiling water for cooking.

But I heard on TV once that the average household kitchen sink has more filthy bacteria per square inch than a toilet, due to people cleaning the toilet more, understandably due to what normally goes *in* there, but they worry less about their sink.

Actually, it's a wonder I didn't get some horrible life-threatening infection a long time ago since I don't keep my apartment as sterile as a hospital, which is very difficult because it's a fairly big apartment and only I live in it. And if I did keep it that clean it could end up making me less resistant to germs, anyway.
