Wouldn't the Secret Service protection interfere with any trial for which he was seated as a juror?

Yes. I would think that having a secret service entourage around you would interfere with jury duty.

To protect the former president, the Secret Service detail would need to come into the jury room during deliberations. But this would interfere with the successful functioning of a jury, namely its secret deliberations. I don't think these conflicts can be resolved.
