gained and lost from where you live
1)...The Question?
What have you gained and lost from
where you live?
2)...Statements by Ghosthunter!
no computer and would have eventually
settled for a 1997 era 1400c/133/40/1g/CD.
When I arrived here in 2002 I wasn't able
to even setup my own internet and got
real jealous of those who wifi'd. I then
at a early stage of internet exploring use
a PalmVIIx and backdoored the news
sites and articles and got this on regular
internet for $40 per month unlimited.
When I arrived here in 2002, I was
collecting and tinkering with 68x030
boxes from apple and paid $5-$20.
Eventually I got readquainted with
computers again, relearned how to
pirate and extract data. I was out of
practice since 2000.
a Wallstreet and Wifi setup. I Spent
$600 overall in this period to have
1) parts Wallstreet
2) my faithful Wallstreet that was badly
abused and with love and devotion
it is a good memory. I stocked
it with 512mb ram, and a 10gig.
3) I have my current wallstreet
that will house this 10gig and and 512mb
ram upon leaving San Francisco and
have We-Fix-Macs in Palo Alto
swap the drive and ram since they
were the ones that originally installed
and warrantied the parts. This gives
it it's final upgrade so it is road worthy.
4) When I met Robert at the house of
"pain and suffering" I would never imagine
that I would be much more professional
and patient with my computer knowledge
that may help with some self-employment
options later.
This and learning how to trouble shoot
G3's has greatly benefited me.
until the house was sold by the landlords kids.
I have spent 2.5 learning to become
self reliant, and can say that I have paid
rent even in a Quizno's job.
I have become aware of how to become
a better student through being outed
by John, owner of the Quizno's franchise
and much more aware of how to control
and let be aspects my level of autism.
Bless his heart, but I must move on and
he deserves a thanks for the outing me
and being patient with me, thus relearning
what employment really is and isn't.
"Play my strengths" it is!
"not playing my strength" it is not!
"Self-employment will help along the
way, but replace a real job, but
supplement it, and thanks to San Francisco
2002-2005 I can better identify that
skill.
in San Francisco. I will be glad to meet
some of you face to face and realize
you are not just letters on a computer
as I gotten to know you folks as humans
NOT casualties in society like I use
to think of myself.
With all that said, all you folks that
were there in posts or in silence but
still there understanding and bearing
with my struggles as I try to work with
yours, I say thankyou! I hope July
and August are blessed months for
me and my better self. and f**k
SAN FRANCISCO AS A CITY!! !! !! !!
It is too crowded and expensive
I will now leave soon. I give John
the 2 weeks notice, make final
departure notes and know that I
am not alone, at least on Wrong
Planet that will go with me as I
bring my computer so I can post
my updates of what is and isn't
accomplished in my journey's
that lie ahead.
Sincerely,
Ghosthunter
P.S and thanks to John and
WrongPlanet!
3)...The Question Repeated!
What have you gained and lost from
where you live?
Good for you! Your jouney starts!
I came from a dysfunctional family where my alcoholic father beat my mother. I married a man like my father and lived like my mother for almost 18 years. I was convinced I could not support myself and was stupid.
Whist living in this house I have learned (sort of in time line order):
Not all men make good fathers. Controlling ones feel displaced and can actually resent their children.
Birth control doesn't work 100%.
I like living without my ex- much much better. I have far less money but I can plan and spend it how it went.
I can support my self and my family.
Divorce can be messy, especially with a controlling spouse.
Police don't like answering domestic calls.
Abusive people can get visitation rights.
If abusive people don't return your children and tell you that you will never see them again (as punishment for the divorce) the FBI gets involved.
Abusive people tend to listen to the FBI
All this happened about five years ago. Currently I am learning that a new boss at an old job can really change that job. I am learning that a bad fit bewteen one's personality and one's job can make life not fun. I am working though the pros and cons of looking for new work. I'm not able to make that leap yet.
BeeBee
I've learned more life lessons than most people my age have.
Parents can be wrong...that was fun to learn.
I've lost whatever sense of pride I have ever felt in myself and the ability to get emotionally involved in anything.
I've learned that some people should never want to be like thier parents.
Divorcing parents can forever distort a childs true personality...kind of happy about that one, I was spoiled before my parents divorced...
I've learned some parenting techniques my mom still doesn't have the pateince to try out...
I've lost... my mind... ![]()
