I suspect my new payee is robbing me.

$200 I was relying on having just disappeared. I was not spending any more money than usual. My bills actually decreased in the last month. So why is $200 dollars that usually is there at the beginning of the month for me suddenly not there when the new payee who took over the old person's office just not there anymore? And when I try to point out to this new woman that the budgeting does not make sense, she dismisses my words and speaks to me as if I am living with a severe intellectual or cognitive disability. And there is nothing I can do about it. The money is lost forever.

I need a drink.

I'm sorry, that's horrible. :(
I'm guessing you've probably thought of this, but is there a supervisor or anyone above this woman that you could go to?

^^ and do you have printouts showing the past payment history, or anything like that, which will help you to prove on paper that this payment was short? I believe you, 100%; I want you to be able to go in to the supervisor (or whoever) with hard evidence so the odds are better that you'll come out with your missing money :-) because sadly the first response of many people is to bristle, deny, and defend - a calm demeanor and documented proof can defuse that - sometimes, anyway.

Not sure if this is a contractor/freelancer payment, a stipend like SSDI, or ?? but hopefully there's historical documentation like a benefits letter or bank statements.

Best to you. And a warm pat on the shoulder, or your preferred equivalent.
