Ok, so last night, I was dancing,
and some (reasonably but not
terribly) attractive, and probably
very drunk, female of your species
approached me, and asked "What's
up?"

Now, I'm focusing on my dancing, and
it's fairly obvious that I'm not looking for
conversation, so I rather slow down, and
stare blankly at her, to which she repeats
the same inanity. I was a smart ass, driving
her away, which was fine, but it seems that
such events occur even when I'm not particularly
disgusted with the person.

Are people who spout such garbage worth giving
a second look to, or is this indicative of the underlying
reality of them? I know that I can't think of anything
reasonable to say, but I at least have the sense to
keep my mouth shut.

Reminds me of the girl who plopped down next to
me and asked, "What's your favorite color, or number,
or something?"

I think saying nothing is for the best.
Girls never come and talk to me.
Maybe it's because I don't dance.

Yeah, the drunk have less inhibitions.
But, I've chatted with some who seem
to have half a brain, even when inebriated.

Maybe you're getting more opportunities than I am, but I wouldn't suggest giving any chance up for any reason. That's just my perspective though, maybe you're having better luck.

I have an obsession that I'm not about
to dip too much lower than, currently.
A few months ago, and maybe I'd be
upset about what I did. As to blowing
them off, I don't have a lot of choice
in THAT matter, once I being to converse,
it nearly always scares them away.

I think the likelihood of somebody like that being able to maintain the interest of somebody like you, is rather slim.

I just wonder if I'm judging the
drunk too harshly. Still, she wasn't
attractive enough physically. There
was one woman there who was -
and realizing this led me to wonder
if I had failed a test somehow.

That very well could be. There are plenty of diamonds in the rough and people who in a moment's lapse of judgment place themselves in silly positions. But giving the benefit of the doubt to every such individual would make for a very time-consuming process.

Sounds like the poor thing already had another strike against her. So I wouldn't feel regretful over any failure to reciprocate.

Oh, I would FAIL to reciprocate anyhow.
That's just in my nature. But, here I made
the decision entirely consciously. I'm trying
to be a bit more aware of the things that I do,
that drive people away.

Hell, if I had been interested, I might have done
something foolish, given the amount of pain and
ecstasy that I was experiencing.

You're tough to piece together. I don't understand how it is that you came to be both shy and so very experienced.

I'm not SO experienced.
Not in the sense of a lot
of partners.

Plus, I'm old.

And damned pretty. :P

That you are.

I don't remember how old you are, but it wasn't old. :P

And I'm sorry, that isn't quite what I meant to convey.

That's okay. I rather enjoy
being this age. I just hope
that it never catches up to
me. The irony of it all is
just too delicious. Seeing
people half my age, who
can't come close to what
I can do.

I'm glad you noticed. It used
to be my great flaw, being
conceited. Now though,
I'm perfect. :P
