Hi, and welcome!

This is a good little group here. Would you say you are lost in terms of what condition you were diagnosed with, or whether you have the qualities of a person with AS?

This is off topic!

Chief Engineer Blackliger, Please report to.....

We are in the process of rescuing the captain
from the OCS, or "Obsessive Cumpulsive
Behavior" of the Big Foot he was mating with.

Our newest crew member that came from
the planet Wet'O'Dream is offering some
suggestions on how to rescue half-naked
captain Dunctvis as he is being swung around
like a doll and the afterglow of "obsession"
beams in the eyes of the female species of
these Saschuashes.

(Swing! THUNK! Whirl! Thunk!) Mr.Ghosthunter
get me out of this. Alas Emiticon Consultant-
Mr.Prometheus offered a Emoticon TV suggestion.
It is called Tag-Team Wrestling. We found a
person here who live amongst these species.
He say's he is originally from Scotland, but
is doing a research project on Big Foot for
some kind of academic institute that apparently
Emoticon's go to and learn how to be smarter
than the average Emoticon!

Hmmmmm? A suggestion by Mr.Prometheus!

Mr.Ghosthunter...(Thunk-Whirl-HELLLLPPPP!,
Captain Dunctivis screams!) I shall wrestle
this Big Foot. He approaches and is yanked
by his feet upward as she(Big Foot) smells
his private parts! Drop! (ouch! as Mr.Promethus
hits the ground) and when he get up, he and
the scottish guy grab-hold the legs of the smelly
creature and proceed to down it.

They with the combined effort of embassador
Monastic, manage to confuse the creature and
(OUCH!-drops the captain and mr.Promethus
is dragged away by the smiling creature).

We will beam him back to the ship and using
what seems to be appropriate custom for these
scottish folks(suggested by Chief Engineer
Blackliger) offered to beam him on the ship
and offer him tea with a stiff? shot of scotch
whisky Chief Engineer Blackliger claims to
have! Hmmmmm? I wonder about Blackliger
and his useful but illicit practices.

Mr.Ghosthunter signing off!

Sincerely,

How are you lost?

What are your hobbies and interests?

What is it that you seek from WrongPlanet?

What are your strong points?

What are your weak points?

I am Ghosthunter, and HFA. What is
your considered status? HFA, AS, ASD, PDD-NOS?

Hmmmmmmm?

Hi, Ghosthunter,

You have a lot of questions and, unfortunately, I have lots of answers.

I'm not going to answer them in order:

(1) What do I seek from Wrong Planet?
Well, I initially found the site looking for info. and support for my mother who has Aspergers but has not been officially diagnosed as such. However, the name of the site "Wrong Planet" also describes how I feel quite often, not just my mom. I don't quite seem to fit into the "normal"/mainstream human race--the not so "normal" either. So, I guess I seek not only info. for my Mom, but a safe place for me to interact with other folks sort of like me.

(2)What is my considered status?
Again, my mom is a non-diagnosed Aspie. But I have a lengthy list of conditions myself: BipolarII (I mostly gravitate to depression) and my "mania" pole manifests itself as irritability, sleep disturbance, and other non-typical "mania" symptoms; I've been diagnosed with Personality Disorder NOS (not otherwise specified--yes a very happy title isn't it?! !). I was diagnosed with that because I have symptoms of inability to read people's intentions/meaning in social situations, extreme sensitivity to stimuli, extreme sensitivity to criticism and perceived judgement, etc., etc. So in some ways I feel a little/lot like an Aspie, too. (I've been told by the doctors that, yes, I have some of the same characteristics, but mine are not neurologically based.) Alas, I also have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fybromyalgia--which all complicate my desire to function a little more "normally" in the world.

(3)Hobbies and Interests:
History; crafts; painting; gardening (when I've got the energy), paper model building; watching animals--the non-human kind; journal writing; reading: non-fiction and the classics; watching documentaries, certain types of British comedy, BBC programs in general. I used to love to drive: had a manual German performance car and I used to love to travel, too, but my illnesses have really knocked those out of my life--at least for now. Also love swimming, walking, hiking, museum-going, but again the fatigue really has cut these down too.

(4)Strong Points:
courage, hope, a healthy dose of persistance, intelligence, creativity-in certain ways, adventurous, extreme loyalty, kindness

(5)Weak Points:
extremely poor self-esteem, all the physical and mental problems, especially the fatigue, inability to function in social situations

Hmmmmmmm? What is it that you do, or your
mom does that gives you this inclination to
say AS?

Hmmmmm? That is definely a long list of things
you like, and the best part is you like to communicate
it. I am impressed on how you freely express like
myself. Phineas thanks for being a communicative
soul! Most AS people here aren't that communicative
thus I see why PDD-NOS.

Again definely a PDD-NOS, not Aspergers!

Same with HFA. I was going through the
DSM-IV and found there are more similarities
in a PDD-NOS and HFA, than AS, and you
emplaphie this so well!

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

Welcome Phineas! I think you will find many (most) people here can relate to some or all of the things that you go through. I can relate to much of it myself. Thanks for sharing :)

Phineas, welcome.

By the way, did the "professionals" give you a reason why your PD-NOS behavior was not neurologically based???

You sound more like a Shadow Disorder of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and not a Personality Disorder.

Were they aware your mother might possibly have Aspergers???
