For those of you remotely interested in the airline biz. Heres whats happening on the DL homefront especially in JFK area.

Delta airlines emerges out of BK CH11 on Apr 25. Paperwork for exiting completed on 30th with offering new stocks.

New Delta Logo unvieled.

May 25 New Comair/Delta paint scheme unvieled. (Refer to last comment)

Comair receives orders on behalf of DL 14 new CRJ-900s with 76 passenger 2 class aircraft all of which will be based out of CVG. While at the same time, Comair will send the 14 50-passenger jets (CRJ100,200s) back to Bombardier Corp.
Training schedule being developed.

Comair announces through a Greensboro (GSO) paper that company will close its GSO and MCO
bases for pilots and flight attendants, but OH spokesperson Kate Marx re-iterated that maintenance will not be affected there in GSO. With that said:

Block times out of JFK expected to increase another 1000 hrs for the summer.

In DL's bid to stymie cycle of negative customer frustration and close service gaps in ATL and other stations, 1200 Employees from Atlantic Southeast Airlines are being merged into DL mainline today (refer to today's AJC article.)

Mesa airlines will continue withdrawing the eyesores that plague JFK ops-the very aged DHC-dash8s.

FBI and NYPD foil terrorist plot at JFK airport where terrorist were wanting to develop IEDS to destroy southern flank fuel farm and 40 miles of jetfuel pipeline from Linden NJ. Meanwhile after the hype and usual hysteria, NYC Mayor Bloomberg in rare show of pragmatism tells NYers to
"get a life".

Delta places a small foothold back in the Far East by re-introducing SEL to JFK. Seoul was once served by DL back in 1999.

Delta airlines continue to fix and work around JFK ops delays with PANY/NY which manages JFK/EWR/LGA.

Check out wall street journal article a few weeks ago about how JFK ATC is trying to deal with burgeouning traffic problems in NY airspace.

Chataqua (DCI/RP)pilots and flight attendants contract are up for new negotiations.

Thats all for now, tune in in the next 6 months for the Holiday 2007 update from JFK.
