Another reason I prefer dogs that is due to their train-ability is because they can help do certain tasks for you & protect you. Some people feel more comfortable outside when they're walking dogs like my girlfriend probably would & some people(maybe more so with women) feel more comfortable in their homes knowing a dog will bark if anyone comes over & in some cases dogs will try to protect em from dangerous people or situations. There's a reason there's service dogs & police dogs instead of service cats & police cats.

CATS!!

But seriously, I've had issues with dogs. Mainly big, barking, snarling , growling dogs. I could be just walking by minding my own business and then their sudden barking nearly gives me a heart attack. The problem is that such dogs are aggressive and territorial by nature and they don't have the intelligence to tell an innocent person apart an intruder.

Dogs that are friendly are okay.
