Schizotypal personality disorder and Asperger's
Hello everyone,
I have read about Schizotypal personality disorder and it seems that it fits me alot.
I like to wear in a unique, original style and i'am very interested in paranormal. Also i tend to take things way too personally in social interactions and over interpret people motivations. It seems Schizotypal don't have hallucinations, which is also not my case(i never had any).
I was diagnostised as PDD as a child and got my Asperger's diagnostic last year, so i surely fit on the spectrum to some degree, but i also have this "original" side which i never found in Asperger's also i tend to be not as bad as most aspies on social interactions unless it become more personal. So i was wondering if i can be both Asperger's and Schizotypal ??
I asked my old psychologist which is a specialist of autism spectrum disorders and she told me that i could be both. However i didnt get well with her, now i don't take her words for granted.
Recently i went back to the school where i was as a kid to gather better infos on the subjects, they told me that i was PDD and had psychotic anxieties. I'am wondering if is it normal for a person on the spectrum?
So do you have any clue about it? It seems that Schizotypal personality disorder is way less known that Asperger's.
What criteria would discedit one or the other for sure?
Thanks
