What does it take to get an aspie DX. Im asking because as a continuation of my last post here they basically said with a DX (or actually a dr.s note which might be easier to get them to say I have this this and this unusual about me) I can get a single :-D.

EXCELLENT! I'm so glad the school is working with you!

It depends on your insurance? I assume you are in the US?

My son was dx'ed by a psychiatrist after a neuropsychologist ran a battery of test.

I'd suggest looking into the fine print of your insurance or calling customer care. You might need a referal from a general doctor to a psychiatrist.

Im almost positive I can just go and my moms old (possibly current too not exactally positive) shrink (sorry I hate most psychiatrists my last one looked at me and saw a dollar sign it sucked) knows one who specialises in PDDs. So was it a one day thing because it sounds like I defeniately need it ASAP so one day thing would be great.

It would suprise me if the Autism Society does not reply to you. If they don't though, ring them.
I went through my local Autism society and I feel it is the best choice I could have made.
Thing is though the person you emailed may not be there full time. I know most of the workers at my society do not work every day. So you may not get a respnse straight away like you would if you ring.
And the thing is you do not have to worry about how you come accross on phone. You can be yourself with these people as they understand our comminication.

So in answer to your question, if you don't here from them, ring them. And even ring them anyway.

I am very happy for you that the school is working with you!!
A single room would be brilliant.
(I had to think for ages and ages about what a 'single' is. LOL)
