Why do we like music anyway?

Music is like art, but using the sense of hearing rather than vision.

Music expresses my thoughts and feelings in a way that nothing else can. Every song I like rather it is vocal or instrumental is something I can relate to emotionally.

Music drowns out internal dialogue

I think a large part of it has to do with the importance of dancing, which is closely linked to courtship and therefore reproduction.

My grandpa didn't like any kind of music.

I used to not really care about music until I got older.
