Getting obsessed with music from a particular country

To those who say they like Swedish and Japanese music, what is it with them that attracts you?

Being Swedish and living in Japan, I can tell there's definitely a special touch to music from these countries, but I wonder if others have the same ones in mind as I do, or if they hear other things. I speak both languages so I can tell the lyrics are mostly the same as UK/US, maybe trying a bit less hard to sound "cool" and having a penchant for the sentimental. But now I'm just talking about regular pop music. For niche genres it's a different ball game.

I have traveled the world musically! I have listened to German and Italian Classical music, American and British rock and roll, Spanish music and Serbian folk music. I love music of all kinds.
