I can't seem to ever come out on top when it comes to debates or arguments as well as general conversations. I am always told I am "wrong" or "f*****g stupid" even if I have done research on the topic or have made observations. It's really frustrating and it makes me feel like others think I am stupid.

What kind of things are you being told that you're wrong about?

When people have an opinion on some topic, it's really difficult to change their mind, even when presented with evidence that what they believe to be true is actually false. In fact, a lot of people double down on their opinions when others try to prove or show that they are wrong, and sometimes that can lead to them lashing out and using insults to shut down conversation. Unfortunately, this is bound to happen no matter who you talk to or what the subject matter is, if there is any emotional attachment or very strong opinions on a topic those emotions and opinions are unlikely to budge.

The anti-vaccine movement is a prime example.

Happens to me too, especially with certain people... are the people who tell you you're wrong often the same ones? If so, how about not bothering to talk to them about things they can say that about? As in only taking part in conversations where you know you're right and know how to prove it?

And remember that while people often talk about their tastes and opinions on things and that there are no right or wrong answer to those things, some people will still say that you're wrong or stupid if your opinion is different from them. It's better to just ignore those people; people who can't accept the fact that others have different tastes are immature and, in my personal opinion, a pain to deal with.

It's the curse of intelligence. Have you ever seen the movie "Idiocracy"? A man of average intelligence was frozen and woke up sometime in the future to find the world in disarray because the stupid people out bred the smart people, making him the smartest person in the world. They were facing a famine because their crops wouldn't grow. He discovered they had been watering them with the equivalent of Gatorade, which had replaced water with the exception of the purpose of flushing toilets. He was unable to convince them that they should water the plants with water, so he instead convinced them that he could talk to plants and they told him they wanted water.
