Every now and then, we encounter the air head who wastes your time at work asking stupid questions. This particular person is a speech pathologist who is supposed to support our ESE classroom rather than ask questions that she can get answers to by looking around.
She also flirts with the boys.....you don't go in a classroom with pubescent boys and twirl your hair and etc. She pissed off one of our kids numerous times and he would scratch her. She blamed us for it.
Every workplace has this kind of person.....
ECE? elementary? I dont know your role in the classroom, are you an aide or the teacher? If you are the teacher you can politely ask the SLP about goals:" what do you think about working on Johnny's expressive language"? Or " what activities would you recommend to help johnny with inflextion?" Etc. If you are an aide maybe talk to thale teacher about his speech goals. Also what is setting the students off? What is the anacedant? If you know what it is, maynw politely let her know and see if she can do something different. And maybe head it off at the pass and take the student to the sensory room. Remember the students is showing a behavior for either escape or wanting something. Probably escape.
