Tequila, that's just life. Nobody ever said it was fair. I make the best with the hand I was dealt.

I think my life has been much better than Forrest's. If I think of some of the humiliations he was dealt...

My life has been full of humiliations. I had my version of Jenny as well. None of us needs people like that.

Tequila, what is your problem?

There's a lot in the film that isn't stated directly. Life wasn't kind to him.

Yes, but if you watch the movie again, you notice that Forrest turned the other cheek at some of these people who were mean to him and nor did he let a group of small-minded people get to him.

Rather, he focused on two things
1. Investing his time in people who cared about him
2.Keeping his eye on the prize

Along the way he found favor with people who found him interesting

1. Playing football
2. Playing Ping Pong Ball
3. Running
4. Saving other soldiers
6. Being reliable shrimper

Just because life hasn’t dealt you the best cards, it doesn’t mean one has to play dead.

Forrest certainly didn’t......

Is there something to people calling me Forrest or Gump? Is this intended to be an insult? The book was written about and Autistic Savant. A manager at work calls me this. Not sure how to take it. I have a very monotone voice. Could that be the dig?

It's sounds like workplace banter to me so it's lighthearted banter ( but not very PC ). When I have ever encountered things like this I own it and try and make more jokes and show it doesn't bother me ( sort of like B-Rabbit vs Papa Doc in 8 mile )
