Hullo hullo... I've just kinda started to learn about asperger's and I feel pretty sure I have it. I don't necessarily have the obsessive interests as much anymore (I'd been trying to repress that side of me for a long time), but the trouble with eye contact, overwhelmedness in large groups and single-mnided efficiency once I get myself locked into a task are all traits of mine... I can still do okay at socializing if I try to get myselfe 'in the zone' so to speak, but for whatever reason I just don't find it as fulfilling as other people do, and a lot of the time it just kinda feels like a second job. Anywho... seems like you guys have a nice community here, I hope I can contribute :)

Sure. . . .welcome to wrongplanet, snocone.

You might be expected to make love with a big foot woman from time to time, but that is part of life here, and we all get used to it.

(yes, I am just joking around a bit)

Repression can be good and bad? How has
it affected you internally? Has it helped you
externally? How old are you? The age thing
gives me a guideline of you life's possible
AS/HFA stage! ?????

Again how has it affected you emotionally and
physically?

but the trouble with eye contact

Hmmmm? When is eye contact a issue?
What is going through your mind when it happens?
Hmmmmmm? To whom does it happen to?

Snowcone wrote:
overwhelmedness in large groups

When do you get overwhelmed? What do you
exactly do when you are overwhelmed?
Is it job related? Is it socially related?
Hmmmmm?

Snowcone wrote:

Hmmmmm? What are some of these
single-minded traits? and things that
you may obsess on?

How long were you lurking before you sign on?
How did you find us?

Hmmmmm? let's see.........How do I ask this????

To distinguish if you are AS or HFA I will ask some
questions?

do you prefer to speak what you think?
do you prefer to stay quiet regardless of what you
think?

Did you have a early age 3-6 disability that cause
a non-verbal issue?
Did you have a higher IQ and were osterized for
it, but no pre-existing non-verbal issues?

I will assume your over 18 and under 25!

sincerely,
Ghosthunter

Hey, thanks everybody... Internet's been out for last few days.... I'll um, try to answer some of those questions

ah, age is 21, I shoulda mentioned that before ><
The repression thing... after awhile it just kinda became habitual.... I mean I don't think anyone can get through life without represing some antisocial ideas/urges. So I mean, I'm not really sure how to answer that  I just kinda brought it up because I feel like I'd tended toward more intellectually stimulating interests when I was little (dinosaurs in particular)but sort of tried to keep that side of me down and now regret it... so now my interests fall more into the videogames & music area.

It used to just be girls I liked... then it became girls in general, now it seems to just be everybody sometimes, I've just gotten more and more paranoid...

Ah... the rest I'll get to later :P
