Hello! My name is Kay. I'm 29 and have been recently diagnosed. I've been lurking these forums for a few years unintentionally—I'd wind up here when I googled certain behaviors and such—so I figured it was time to make an account. I always knew there was something about me that I didn't have a name for and until recently it's been extremely frustrating trying to figure out what it was. I'd suspected I was on the autism spectrum for a couple years now and getting that affirmation felt like a huge relief.

I work as a third shift police dispatcher. I really like the work itself. I can really get into the zone with this kind of work. Although, sometimes the station itself can be a little overwhelming, but it's much better at night when I can turn the lights out and there aren't so many sounds. I'm not always good at making close friends, but I've made a couple good ones here who have always supported me.

I'm looking forward to getting more involved on this forum and having some interesting discussions with all of you!
