Abnormal childhood fears?

I had the fear of eggplant from Adventure Island video game when I was about 10 years old. I did not know that it was an eggplant then, I named it "niebieska żaba" ("blue frog") or "niebieska kaka" ("blue large duck" or something alike).

I wasn't afraid of flies, but they did disgust me. I knew early on they were gross because of where they walked.

I was afraid of being around police men & hearing police sirens. My mom used to threaten to have me arrested as a kid when I would have meltdowns. I was also bullied alot & had my peers lie about or set me up to get me in trouble.

I was utterly fearless as a little kid. I think that's quite "abnormal". :) I heard it's common for autistics to be lacking fear.

OK, I did fear death. Not sure if that's a normal or abnormal fear for a four year old.

When I was a small child, I was convinced that Jaws was going to come up my vents at night and eat me. I was also convinced that dragonfly bites would corrode your neck until your head fell off.

Oh! and you know those IMAX theatres? Well, in Detroit, there's this science museum (The Science Center) that I used to LOVE going to for field trips. At the end of the trip, however, we always had to watch a movie in the big domed theater where the film was shown on the whole damned dome? It gave you the feeling that you were actually moving with the action on the screen and I was CONVINCED THAT I WAS GOING TO FALL OUT OF MY CHAIR AND HIT THE SCREEN. I hated. Every. Minute. Of. That. Theater.

My greatest fear was becoming somehow disabled, not just different. I knew I was different all my life, but I used to have fears of winding up being taken care of by someone else.
