If Earth had to have a planetary capital like in the Star Wars Galaxy, which city do you think it should be and why? It can be any size and anywhere in the world.

Given the highly territorial nature of many of it's indigenous species, attempting to unify the population under one jurisdiction, would result in a civilization collapse.

In other words,good luck with that, you can't put it anywhere. Humans will fight over it no matter where it is.

It doesn't matter IF there we're any alien species out there, Us humans just can't ever seem to get along with each other. Quarantine the system and move on....

I would pick Washington DC because America is the most powerful nation in the world & DC is the capital of America. Plus our president thinks he can control the world.

I would build a new capital in the Russian Steppes. It would have an unlimited ability to expand because of the flat nature of the land.

Egypt...yup! As surprising as it sounds, Egypt’s pyramids have everything to do with the stars. The 3 pyramids represent Orion’s Belt, also know as the 3 shepherds or the 3 kings. One of the pyramids chambers point directly at the brightest star in our sky, Sirius A. Stated with the cosmos and returns back to them

One thing good about Egypt as a capital.

There would be no excuse to take a day off. It hardly ever rains there (except for near the Mediterranean coast).

Ravensthorpe, near Dewsbury in West Yorkshire, UK. The place could do with a bit of a boost.

Or... the south pole. You'd have to be particularly dedicated to stay there over the winter... it might rule out most of the usual career politicians and megalomaniacs.
